Golden Globe-winner Taraji P. Henson has not only been vocal about her anxiety and depression problems, but also about destigmatizing mental illness in the Black community. In 2018, In 2018, she started the The Boris Lawrence Henson Foundation  to focus on mental health in the black community.

Ever since the death of his mother in 1997, he’s been working to stop the stigma against mental illness, founding (with his royal brother and sister-in-law) a charity in 2016 called Heads Together.

Over the past few years many celebrities from actors/actresses, athletes, performers, and more have began to speak out about their mental health issues. Based on their own struggle with mental health they have started to spread awareness on the topic as well as the need to break the negative stigma.
